Safety Awareness: CLS Framework

The CLS: Safety Awareness—CLS Framework course is a prerequisite that provides the foundational knowledge for other CLS: Safety Awareness hazard courses. It covers the psychological and behavioral aspects of the Construction LifeSaver approach to safety. You will learn about brain function, decision-making, and commitments expected throughout their careers. Topics include the fast and slow brains, habit cycle, OODA Loop, and situational awareness. Completion of this course allows you to apply the CLS Framework to specific construction hazards in subsequent courses.

Safety Awareness: Caught-Between

The CLS: Safety Awareness—Caught-Between Hazards course trains you on using the OODA Loop to protect against caught-between hazards on construction sites. Topics include observing and mitigating hazards near equipment, tools, and lifts. You'll test your skills in a 3D construction simulator.

Safety Awareness: Confined Spaces

This Confined Spaces course teaches you how to use the OODA Loop to protect yourself and coworkers in confined spaces on construction sites. You learn to observe, orient, decide, and act to mitigate hazards. Topics covered include permits, hazardous atmospheres, ventilation, rescue plans, and common confined space hazards. The course concludes with you applying your knowledge in a 3D construction environment simulator to identify and address hazards using the OODA Loop.

Safety Awareness: Excavations

The CLS: Safety Awareness—Excavations course trains you on using the OODA Loop to protect yourself and coworkers in excavations. Topics include hazard observation, orientation, decision-making, and risk elimination. The course culminates in a 3D simulator where you'll practice applying the OODA Loop to identify and mitigate hazards.

Safety Awareness: Hazardous Energy

The CLS: Safety Awareness—Hazardous Energy course trains you on using the OODA Loop to protect yourself and coworkers when dealing with various forms of energy on construction sites. Topics include hazard observation, orientation, decision-making, and risk elimination. The course includes simulations for applying the OODA Loop in a 3D construction environment.

Safety Awareness: Mobile Equipment

The CLS: Safety Awareness—Mobile Equipment course trains you on using the OODA Loop to protect yourself and coworkers when working with and around mobile equipment on construction sites. Topics include hazard observation, orientation, decision-making, and risk elimination. The course includes a 3D simulator for applying the OODA Loop to identify and mitigate hazards.

Safety Awareness: Securing Loads

The CLS: Safety Awareness—Securing Loads course trains you on using the OODA Loop to ensure safe transportation of materials and equipment to construction sites. Topics include hazard observation, orientation, decision-making, and risk elimination. The course culminates in a 3D simulator where you'll apply the OODA Loop to identify and mitigate load securement hazards.

Safety Awareness: Struck-By Hazards

The CLS: Safety Awareness—Struck-By Hazards course trains you on using the OODA Loop to prevent struck-by hazards on construction sites. Topics include hazard observation, orientation, decision-making, and risk elimination. The course includes a 3D simulator where you'll apply the OODA Loop to identify and mitigate hazards associated with falling, flying, swinging objects, mobile equipment, and roadways.

Safety Awareness: Workers' Rights

The CLS: Safety Awareness - Workers' Rights course educates you on your entitlement to a safe working environment. It covers the history of workers' protection laws, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the role of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Topics include legally protected rights, reporting unsafe conditions anonymously, refusing hazardous work, personal protective equipment, and training mandates.

Safety Awareness: Working at Heights

The CLS: Safety Awareness—Working at Heights course trains you to protect yourself and coworkers from height-related hazards using the OODA Loop. Topics include hazard observation, orientation, decision-making, and risk elimination. The course includes a 3D simulator where you'll practice applying the OODA Loop to identify and mitigate hazards in a construction setting.

Silica Exposure Safety

The silica exposure course educates you on mitigating silica exposure during daily activities. It covers the course overview, silica fundamentals, OSHA standards, and engineering/control methods for maintaining safety.

Ladder Safety

The ladder safety course emphasizes the significance of using, inspecting, and maintaining ladders on the jobsite. It provides an overview, introduces ladder safety, and highlights measures for mitigating ladder-related fall hazards. Topics include ladder inspection, proper setup, and essential safety tips for workers.
